Capability overview

Hardware modeling built for complex digital circuits and realistic simulation behavior.

With more than 100 hardware model developments to its credit, ITS has experience modeling complex digital circuits and hybrids for demanding simulation and test applications.

The work extends beyond individual models: ITS is also developing the HS-300 project as a path to preserve and modernize hardware-modeling services built around the legacy Teradyne D300 ecosystem.

D300 modeling

More than 100 hardware model developments and deep digital simulation experience.

ITS engineers model complex digital circuits and hybrids with attention to repeatability, fault signatures, and the behavior LASAR expects from the modeler.

D300

Teradyne D300 hardware models

ITS D300 models incorporate the appropriate amount of X-handling to mask non-repeatable states and generate unique fault signatures for fault-dictionary development.

HS-300 project

A path beyond the unsupported legacy D300 hardware modeler.

The ITS HS-300 project uses a donor D300 backplane interfaced to a Teradyne HSSub with HSSub-6025 channel cards, simulating the legacy D300 pattern and control boards while modernizing the host environment.

The HSSub runs Windows 11 with ITS-developed MDLMAN and DSORCE drivers to advertise modeler services to LASAR. LASAR runs on a QEMU virtual machine with Solaris 8 on the embedded PC, creating an all-in-one approach to hardware modeling and LASAR simulation with judge capabilities.

Current capabilities

Working toward functional continuity with the legacy platform.

  • Full support for the DUS-160 board across all four rows
  • Support for all 15 backplane slots
  • Detect Group support in hardware models
  • Static and dynamic model support
  • LASAR-specified dynamic clock assert and return timings
  • LASAR-specified detect phase timings
  • SYNC ON support and modeled SYNC-WAIT ON pipeline delays
  • LASAR SIMUL and JUDGE test cases matching legacy D300 runs
Near-future goals

Reduce remaining dependence on legacy components.

  • Phase II TACFI SBIR backplane and DA101 redesign for a full COTS solution
  • Performance improvements
  • Double channels per slot from 160 to 320
  • New DA101s capable of twice the number of channels
